Facility Closures
In Observance of President's Day, all facilities of Williamson County Parks and Recreation
will be closed on Monday, February 20.
Facilities will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

Stop by the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. for a tour of the new 4,200 square foot state-of-the-art wellness center. The new center has 78 pieces of equipment, stretching area, 11 flat screen tvs, audio ports on cardio equipment, free weight area and more.

ArtSparks
Make plans now to attend the annual Arts and Crafts Open House, ArtSparks, at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, on Saturday, January 28, 2012! Williamson County Parks and Recreation will showcase a gallery full of professional and amateur talent provided by students and instructors from 20 different types of art classes offered by our department. Children and adults alike will want to “spark” their creative side with free “make-it, take-it” projects, demonstrations and face painting. Our Sticky Fingers Pre-School Club will also feature their very own Art Show. Many instructors will be on hand to demonstrate their craft and answer any questions you may have.
The ArtSparks event will be held from 10 a.m.-3p.m. Admission is free and door prizes will be awarded. For more information, call Lauren at (615) 302-0971 ext. 25.

Daddy's Lil Princess Ball
[ Franklin]
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department proudly presents our Daddy’s Lil’ Princess Ball! Girls, ages 4 to 12, bring your Dad, Step-Dad, Uncle or Grandpa to this magical evening and “royal” dance. You will enjoy the Court Jester’s latest musical hits and fun games as well as delicious refreshments fit for a queen! Each princess will receive a real rhinestone tiara and a special picture with her “prince” to remember this very special evening.
The cost is $15 per couple and $5 for each additional girl. Space is limited and reservations are first come first served until full. Payment must be made within 5 days of registration. Registration may be made in person or by speaking with a receptionist.
The Princess Ball at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, will be held Saturday, February 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To register or for more information call (615) 790-5719, ext. 10.

Williamson County Community Band
The award-winning Williamson County Community Band is preparing for the 2012 concert season, and you are invited to join in the fun! If you play or formerly played any musical instrument, the community band is a great way to express your talent.
Rehearsals are held in the band room of Franklin High School, 810 Hillsboro Road, on Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The first rehearsal of the 2012 will be on Thursday, February 2. You may join at any time.

Star Bright Players, Jr.
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award-winning children’s theatre group, the Star Bright Players, announces auditions for a special production of Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.” Auditions for this “kids only” show will be Sunday, February 5 at Freedom Middle School, 750 Highway 96 West in Franklin.
“Aladdin, Jr.” will showcase young talent in the community, and the cast will be made up of children ages 7 through 14. *Performers must be ages 7 to 14 at the time of audition.
Auditions for new participants in Star Bright will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by returning Star Bright Player auditions from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children will be required to sing a song and some may be called back for a second audition on Monday, February 6 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Freedom Middle School. If preparing a selection to sing, please choose something in the musical theatre genre. There is a $70 activity fee for all children cast in the show (includes costume rental and cast t-shirt).

Tennis League Registration
All spring, summer and fall indoor and outdoor tennis leagues will begin registration on Monday, February 6 for Williamson County residents. Registration for others will begin February 21.
