Community Events

One of the Community Activities Division’s favorite aspects of what we do is to create fun and engaging community events for the residents of our community.  Nothing pleases us more than seeing our hard work and preparations culminate in families spending quality time having fun together, sharing smiles and laughter. Annual favorite events include Father & Daughter Dances, Mother & Son Dances, Kite Festival, Community Band and Community Choir performances and many more.

Delight in the streets of Covington Glen as you shop our talented artisans’ exceptional wares. Immerse yourself in song, laughter, and amazement as jesters, minstrels, jugglers, and magicians demonstrate their unique skills. Listen to the tall tales of pirates and prepare to watch the royal joust. After you join the Queen’s Court and tour the outside Castle Gwynn Grounds, you can feast on the variety of flavors, aromas and tastes from merchants and vendors. Test your mettle at games of skill and enjoy other activities guaranteed to satisfy all.

Free Spring Concerts

Join us this spring for free concerts on the patio at the WCPAC! Enjoy the musical stylings of guitarist and singer Joe Hand! Limited seating is available, but guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a picnic to enjoy on the patio. Joe knows thousands of songs so please feel free to request a few!

Joe is a lifelong musician, producer, recording artist and writer. A multi-instrumentalist and graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, he has been making music professionally for over 35 years on stage and in studios all over the world. Joe owned a studio on music row from 1998-2008,  and was the “man behind the curtain” for more than a few platinum recording artists including Linkin’ Park and many other artists that can’t be named. His current study is electric guitar, and Joe’s latest releases include “Million Million Years” and a fabulous “Latin Medley” that covers a LOT of guitar ground.  When he’s not buying and selling and trading guitars, he’s playing them.  Joe recently moved back to Nashville from Central Florida, and is working on many new projects.  Learn more at www.joehand.com.

2024 Summer Tribute Series

Sail On plays all of the Beach Boys’ classic hits, plus some treasures from the band’s brilliant extended catalog, recreating the soundtrack to an Endless Summer completely live and in rich detail.You’ll hear the band's greatest hits like “Little Deuce Coupe,” “409,” “Wouldn't It Be Nice,” “Good Vibrations,” “Barbara Ann,” “Surfin’ USA,” and “California Girls” plus so many more!

Enjoy the sultry sounds of Jazz on the Courtyard with Lisa Stewart and her jazz combo! Originally from Mississippi, Nashville-based jazz singer Lisa Stewart will take you back in time to the jazz clubs of New York City in the 1940s. Raised on the blues and gospel music, Lisa brings a little bit of country flair to her performance of well-known jazz standards and songs from The Great American Song Book. 

Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on site. Outdoor seating will not be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets or a picnic to enjoy during the performance. Restrooms and additional seating will be available inside the Williamson County Performing Arts Center. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held inside at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center with seating provided for all in attendance.

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center is excited to announce our first Acoustic Fest to be held on the Academy Park Courtyard just outside the theater in Franklin, TN. This year’s fest will feature a range of talent, from local up-and-coming performers to 50-year veterans in the music business. 
 
6:00pm: us two and him
The evening kicks off at 6pm with us two and him, a local bluegrass trio consisting of brothers Jim and John Rickman ("us two") and Phil Comstock ("him"). These three close buddies have been telling stories and harmonizing together for five decades. They have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage,  "The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree,” "Nashville Gospel Show,” WSM's "Bill Cody in the Morning" radio show, and for many years they were semi-regulars on Nashville’s "The Ralph Emery Show." 
 
7:00pm: Jay Rin
At 7pm, we welcome Jay Rin, soulful ‘Rockicana’ singer-songwriter originally from Whittier, CA and graduate of Belmont University 2017. She has been featured on Knoxville’s WDVX, Murfreesboro’s WMOT, and Los Angeles’ KLOS after the release of her debut 2023 album “Fool on the Fringe.” Jay Rin is a full time performing artist and also spends her time as the 'John Lennon' in the internationally touring all female Beatles tribute - Penny Lane.
 
8:00pm: Jim & Valerie Gabehart
Husband and wife team, Jim & Valerie Gabehart, who have also been musical partners for 29 years, will be our featured entertainers at 8pm. Recent transplants to Tennessee from the hills of West Virginia, Jim is a 5-time West Virginia State Champion banjo player, and Valerie is a dynamic bluegrass vocalist! They will be joined by their daughter, Amy Taylor on guitar, and Corey Hensley on bass. 
 
9:00pm: Mike Dunbar
Closing out the evening at 9pm is songwriter and performing artist Mike Dunbar. A New England native, Mike’s music is equal parts Paul Simon and Tom Petty, blending lyrical depth with a rock-and-roll attitude. His work has been featured in the Boston Globe as well as on Nashville’s Lightning 100, Channel 4’s Today in Nashville, Boston’s The River, and New Hampshire Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.”

Jacob Tolliver: A Tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis
2024 Summer Tribute Series

Jacob Tolliver presents a tribute to trailblazing rock ’n’ roller Jerry Lee Lewis. A self-taught piano prodigy and close personal friend, Jacob has spent the last few years playing and portraying Jerry Lee Lewis in the hit Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet. He has performed to sold-out audiences across the county, sharing the stage with luminaries including Ricky Staggs, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jackson Browne and The Beach Boys. This tribute show is packed with decades of hits and honors the electrifying, piano-driven sound and style of the late Jerry Lee Lewis.

Chi-Town Transit Authority
2024 Summer Tribute Series

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center invites you to a special tribute to the music of Chicago! Chi-Town Transit Authority is an 8-piece tribute band based out of Atlanta established in 2017 that is dedicated to reproducing the “Chicago” concert experience. Featuring a tight horn section along with the dynamic vocal harmonies that Chicago is famous for, Chi-Town performs all of the familiar and famous songs covering over 4 decades of steady hits written and recorded by Chicago.

2024 Summer Tribute Series

Forever Abbey Road is a collective of successful Nashville musicians who work hard at creating a unique show that demonstrates what the Beatles might sound like if they were around today with current technology and modern rock energy. These musicians play some of the music exactly like the record but at times they expand on the music and create incredible new arrangements with dynamic virtuosic musicianship. The band members have worked with a huge list of legends including Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Willie Nelson, Nickelback, Dolly Parton, Zac Brown, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and more!
