One of the Program Division’s favorite aspects of what we do is to create fun and engaging events for the residents of our community. Nothing pleases us more than seeing our hard work and preparations culminate in families spending quality time having fun together, sharing smiles and laughter. Our department is proud to say that we offer, on average, around 60 Community Events per year in all corners of Williamson County. Annual favorites include Father & Daughter Dances, Touch-A-Truck, Egg Hunts, Breakfast with Santa, Pool Parties, Halloween Events and many more.
Little Shop of Horrors
Williamson County Parks and Recreation's award-winning children's theatre group The Star Bright Players will present Little Shop of Horrors this May. This deviously delectable sci-fi musical smash has an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth, and an unquenchable thirst for HUMAN BLOOD. As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood. Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and drive for world-domination.
Presented by Dreams Do Come True Princess Parties in honor of Ray of Light TN, let your light shine at this Youth Vocal Competition! A portion of funds raised will go to benefit Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Ray of Light TN was founded by Raymond Cruz, who has been fighting Stage 4 Ewing's Like Sarcoma since January of 2017. Through this battle, he was given the opportunity to share his message of hope with people through his music, from the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to the stage of the Ryman. Ray's dream and mission is to make a difference by helping others and to help raise funds that will provide Vanderbilt Children's Hospital with research and programs that will provide more help to the children and their families.
