The Wilkins Branch Mountain Bike Park sits on approximately 156 acres of hilly and wooded land in Franklin, just west of Main Street in the Leiper's Fork community. This dedicated mountain bike park includes miles of single track trail consisting of beginner through advanced flow and down hill trails. Phases one and two of development feature 13 trails over approximately 6 miles. See trail descriptions below.

The Wilkins Branch Mountain Bike Park is the direct result of collaboration and partnership between Outdoor Encounter (OE) and Williamson County Government through the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR). The goal of this private/public partnership is to provide the public with a premier, free-use recreational mountain bike park in Williamson County.

Outdoor Encounter, a local non profit, is dedicated to creating recreational opportunities for those living and working in the Greater Nashville areas. 

Trail Descriptions
Green = Beginner
Blue = Intermediate
Black = Expert

Parkway - Rated Green/Blue – This perimeter loop trail is the only trail that connects to every other trail in Phase 1. This directional trail, always going counterclockwise, starts and ends at the parking lot. This single-track trail is fairly smooth, not very technical, but does have some elevation gain and a few steep bermed corners that can be difficult for some.

Outhouse - Rated Green – Named after the literal old school outhouse we found while building the trail. It is a one direction trail, heading out from the parking lot to Outhouse Loop and The Hub. This beginner single track trail is a good starting point for new riders. It is also the quickest route to Stache n’ Cash and Shep Express.

Outhouse Loop - Rated Green – This beginner single track loop is a fantastic trail for new riders and those wanting to practice basic skills. There is very little elevation and has some exposed roots and dirt rollers to help beginner rider’s progress to the next level. This trail also contains a "skinny" log feature that can test rider's balance and control.

The Hub – This is not a trail, but a centralized location for riders to meet and choose a variety of trail options to ride. It is the starting location for Shep Express and Stache’ n Cash. The Hub also connects to Outhouse loop and Parkway back to the parking lot.

Moonshine Run - Rated Black – Named after Leiper’s Fork long history of running moonshine during Prohibition. The black level rating is due to the first feature drop, although there is a bypass around it. It is a downhill flow trail with multiple jumps and a large berm that leads to a tabletop at the end. It merges onto Parkway at a high level of speed that can be carried over more rollers before hitting an uphill climb. (use caution when merging here)

Bob Sled - Rated Blue – It is a steep and short downhill flow trail located in a ravine. It uses the natural slopes of each side of the ravine to allow riders to pump through the trail and across a wooden bridge at the bottom. It merges onto Parkway at a high level of speed that can be carried over more rollers before hitting an uphill climb. (use caution when merging here)

Shep Express - Rated Blue – Named after a key volunteer, this trail is a fast downhill flow line with lots of jumps and berms. There is a step-down feature about halfway through the run, with an option to bypass. It merges onto Parkway after a slight reverse grade to reduce speed prior to merging. There is a connector trail off Parkway for those wanting to session this line.

Stache n’ Cash – Rated Black - Named after our volunteer, Big Ron, and his dog Cash, the Stache n’ Cash is a downhill flow trail with large jumps, berms and step ups. There are lots of opportunities for advanced riders to get some big air. However, all the jumps are rollable, which makes it accessible to most abilities. It merges onto Parkway after a few tight turns to scrub riders speed prior to merging. There is a connector trail off Parkway for those wanting to session this line

Wilkins Branch Mountain Bike Rules

• Trails are for mountain bike use only.
• No hikers, joggers or pets allowed on trails.
• Helmets are mandatory for all users and other protective equipment is strongly recommended.
• No smoking, vaping or illicit drug use.
• No alcoholic beverages permitted.
• No motorized vehicles or motorbikes permitted beyond parking lot.
• No camping, fires or fireworks permitted.
• Please place all litter in trash receptacles.
• The Park may close at any time for inclement weather. Seek shelter during lightning storms and/or bad weather.
• Users under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian that is 18 years or older, at all times while utilizing the bike park. 
• For your safety and preservation of the trails, take note and abide by closed areas, hazard markings and signage. Ride only designated trails that are open.
• Beware of your surroundings and other riders.
• Adjust your speed when the park is busy.
• Ride safely within your ability. Many of the routes through the park require advanced mountain bike skills, including jumping, tight cornering, and some steep climbs and descents. The skill level required for the various park features and trails are identified on the trail map located at the Kiosk.
• Remember – the terrain can change due to weather, use and maintenance. Do not ride or jump blindly.
