All art is magical and individual; often, people don't remember that writing is an art form of the highest order. Then, they are intimidated because they think that being a good writer involves technical skill. While skill is important, certain exercises can increase creativity, the foundation for good writing!

Come explore how to open the portal to your words. Your words matter because you matter. If you've ever wanted to become a more polished writer, or find the key to unlock your unique language, this class is for you!

The first hour will examine how to get into the writer's space. Self-talk, observation and using one's senses will play front and center. The second hour will focus on some truly creative writers, with opportunities for practice, using both the skills acquired in the first hour and reading excerpts from creative masters.

No experience is necessary! The only two requirements are an open mind and a willingness to do the deep dive!

Pre-registration is required; limited spacing is available. All inquiries should go to Shannon Freeman, supervisor and instructor, at shannon.freeman@williamsoncounty-tn.gov . All refunds/credits/transfers must be processed with Shannon 48 hours prior to the class. Please bring a notebook and pen.
