Music Classes

WCPR offers a variety of affordable music programs for children, teens, adults and seniors.  Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, our instructors will guide you to improve your musical abilities.  Classes focus on reading music, developing technique, music theory and skill development.  The ability to play a musical instrument is on 90% of people’s “wish list” of talent and it is never too late to learn.  Contact one of our wonderful instructors to set up your first lesson today.

Music Makers takes young students (Pre-K, ages 3-5) on a musical journey as they learn about rhythm, drumming, dance, singing, reading music, and playing the piano. Our engaging and experienced teachers do a wonderful job encouraging our young learners, and even bring all the instruments! But Music Makers isn't just FUN... Learning an instrument instills self-confidence, develops attention spans, promotes reading fluency, improves future academic achievement, and encourages social skills and teamwork! Guitar Club gives students of all ages the chance to get their hands on a real guitar and play exciting music with friends, family... even grandparents! This is a class for parents to take with their kids to learn to play the guitar together. Using our Three-year, Three-tier curriculum, students will learn songs ranging from fun classic rock to contemporary pop songs. Our experienced and encouraging teachers do a great job with both beginning and returning students, so no experience is necessary to have fun in our class. Private weekly piano lessons or voice lessons with a focus on the fun of playing piano; learn your way around the keyboard through a natural process, play songs with both hands, and read music. For Voice, practice popular songs, proper breathing, vocal exercises to gain control of the voice, and learn stage presence. These lessens can be split between piano and voice.

Laptops enabled with Digital Audio Workstations are provided for each student, using STEAM curriculum covering a wide range of creative and technical aspects for composing, arranging and recording music. New projects and skills for each workshop to ensure that students are constantly learning and growing in their musical and technical abilities. Includes a final demonstration for students to share their musical creations with family and friends during the last class.
