Arts & Crafts Programs for Children

WCPR’s Arts & Crafts programs offer a wide variety of fine arts and crafts instruction for ages 3 and older to stimulate creativity, social interaction and skill development. Our goal is to provide an experience that will allow each child to explore their imagination through creative engagement while having fun.  While most scheduled art classes require registration and payment, WCPR also offers a variety of FREE programs throughout the year which include a “make-it, take-it” craft project. We also offer a variety of other programs which may be found in other areas of the website.  Please see Health & Wellness, Music Classes, and Recreation Classes for more programs.

Homeschool Art Classes - Copy

Introducing a new Homeschool Art Program at Williamson County Parks and Recreation! Join Instructor Andrew Rose as he guides Elementary and Middle School students in weekly classes offered at four different Parks and Rec facilities – Franklin, Fairview, Longview, and Nolensville.

Andrew offers four classes a day: two classes for elementary age students (7 – 10), and two for middle school age students (11 – 13). Students can sign up for both classes in their age group for extended creative time, or just take the class that interests them!

This October, students will gain inspiration from Greek and Roman mythology while learning to draw and paint monsters of legend. A watercolor class directly follows the Myths and Monsters class where students can hone their painting skills with the subject matter of their choosing.

The Fairview Recreation Center will offer four additional classes. On Thursday mornings, there will be a special African Safari Animal Drawing class and watercolor class for younger elementary kids ages 5-7. On Thursday afternoons, students ages 10-15 who wish to improve their drawing skills will love Drawing 3-D and the subsequent open watercolor class.
