Primrose Sewing: Adult Workshops Franklin Recreation Complex Various Dates (see below) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Ages: 18+ Cost: $45.00 Instructor: Abby Gustavson Spring 2024 Adult Sewing Workshops Primrose Sewing is excited to welcome adults to register for Adult Workshops! Students will use sewing machines, choose their own fabrics, and make original projects to develop their sewing skills. The workshop fee includes all supplies, all fabrics, usage of sewing machines, and lots of fun! Workshops are available for adults of all skill levels. Kendo Martial Arts: Beginner & Advanced Franklin Recreation Center Thursdays Beginner: 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm Advanced: 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm Ages: 10+ Cost: $30.00/month Instructor: Walter White Dates: Recurring every month! Click HERE to register! Join instructor Walter White in the Japanese art of bamboo fencing. Kendo builds endurance and fitness, and helps develop mental discipline, all while teaching respect and honor. Kendo also emphasizes etiquette in all facets of training and is appropriate for all ages to learn. Suggested attire and equipment needed for class: clothing that you feel comfortable moving in and a Shinai (bamboo sword). *$30 supply fee paid directly to the instructor at the start of class (for new participants only, to cover the cost of the instructor purchasing a Shinai bamboo sword.) Instructor White holds the rank of Yondan (4th-degree black belt) in Kendo and has trained in this form for over 30 years. Teen/Adult Contemporary Voice Lessons Williamson County Enrichment Center Every Wednesday June 5 - July 31 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Ages: 14+ Cost: $160/month Click HERE to register. In this course, students will learn contemporary voice techniques and style. They'll learn vocal exercises to build a strong voice foundation and have fun with vocal improvisations. We will work on two songs; each student will be assigned a part in the song, either as a soloist and/or part of the ensemble. Polynesian Dance Longview Recreation Center Thursdays Beginner: 5:30 pm Experienced: 6:15 pm All Ages $25/month Instructor: Christine Hood Click HERE to register! Learn to dance like the island natives of Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand, and Tahiti. Instructor, Chris Hood uses these dance representations as a form of both exercise and education. Join our new Swing Dance class! Our 4-week series will teach you the basic 6-count footwork and turns of the iconic Lindy Hop style of swing dancing, which dates back to the 1920s-1950s. You don't need a partner or any previous experience to participate. With over 40 years of combined dance experience, Phillip and Jenae Chuor have taught dance of various styles for national competitions, small and large social events, schools, county fairs, and weddings, and even owned a dance studio.
