Therapeutics Activities

Therapeutic Recreation Game Night Scooter Hockey
The Therapeutics Division offers a variety of ongoing programs for people with intellectual disabilities. Most programs take place at either the Franklin Recreation Complex or Williamson County Complex at Nolensville. 

Therapeutics Update: WCPR will resume some adult Therapeutics programming starting in June. Please see the Camp Will section for a list of Franklin summer programs coming soon. Also resuming are Friendsday Wednesday at Nolensville and Friday Fun Day (please see below for more information).

NEW! Therapeutics Open Swim
This swim time is designated for patrons with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities and their families/caregivers. Each Saturday, two session times will be offered, and families can either call ahead to reserve a spot in one of the sessions or walk-in if space is available. In order to promote and encourage social distancing, the occupant capacity for Therapeutics Open Swim is limited to 20 people per session. As patrons leave the pool area, more patrons will be able to enter. 
Day: Saturdays

Location: Franklin Recreation Complex-Indoor Pool
Session Times: 12pm-1pm and 1pm-2pm *Please note: Families can either call ahead (615-790-5719 ext. 2010) to reserve a spot in either session (not both), or walk-ins are also welcome if space is available. 
Cost: General admission or patrons can scan their WCPR pass

FRANKLIN RECREATION COMPLEX ACTIVITIES

Fun Fridays
This therapeutic recreation program for ages 18 and up is offered one Friday night each month from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Participants will enjoy an evening of recreation therapy, games, crafts, and a movie. Dinner is also included in this activity. Participants must be a resident of Williamson County. This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support). This program will resume soon.

Culinary Creations 
Come out and join us for a fun new cooking class. Participants will have an opportunity to cook a variety of different foods that are tasty and easy to make at home. This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support). The class will be held on one Wednesday each month 10:30am-12:00pm. Registration is required. This program will resume soon. 

Miscellaneous Mondays 
This program, geared for teens and older, focuses on a different hobby each month. Past activities have included cooking, fitness, and crafts. This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support). Miscellaneous Mondays meets on Mondays from 4pm-5pm. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.

Recreation Night 
This teens and older program offers different activities each month, such as dinner and movie, socials, karaoke night, and dances. Dinner is also included with this activity. This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked register and pay if planning to eat dinner). This program meets one Thursday each month from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.

Throwback Thursday
Please join us for a blast from the past where we will enjoy a variety of "Throwback" activities. Dinner is also included. This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked to register and pay if planning to eat dinner). This program will be held on one Thursday each month from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.

Games Galore
For teens and older, this program offers a different sport or game theme each month, such as Game Show Night, Kickball, Board Game Night, Large Group Games, and more! Dinner is also included with this activity. This is a PALS program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked to register and pay if planning to eat dinner). This program meets one Thursday each month from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.

NOLENSVILLE RECREATION CENTER ACTIVITIES

Friendsday Wednesday
This program will focus on doing fun activities with our friends each month. Whether it be a new game we are learning, a craft we are making, or a snack we are cooking! This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support). This event will take place one Wednesday a month from 10am-11:30am. Nolensville Activity Club
Each month will have a different theme or project. This therapeutic recreation program will focus on creativity and fun projects, experiments and crafts! This is a PALS Program: People at Leisure with Support (A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support). This program will take place one Monday per month from 10am-11:30am. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.

OFFSITE ACTIVITIES
Friday Fun Day
Want to get out of the house for a bit? This program, for adults with disabilities, is here for you! Friday Fun Day is an opportunity to get out in the community for a fun-filled Friday! Whether we are meeting for a matinee movie, picnic at the park or a shopping day at the mall, we will be having a blast and would love for you to join us. A certified Rec Therapist will be there to supervise. PALS Program (People at Leisure with Support): A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. This program will meet one Friday each month and times will vary. Registration is required. This program will resume soon.
