Camp Will

Camp Will is a specialized therapeutic day camp for children, adolescents, and young adults living in Williamson County with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Our goal is to build confidence and self-esteem, enhance social skills, foster independence and provide an exciting and fun-filled summer for the campers through swimming, dance, art, music and recreation therapy.  This is achieved by providing a safe and nurturing environment with a carefully selected and trained staff.

Eligibility
Campers must be a resident of Williamson County, ages 6 to 23 years, with a physical and/or developmental disability.
New campers: An assessment must be completed by a parent or guardian by April 13, 2012.  Campers must also be present at the time of assessment.  Please call 790-5719 ext. 21 to schedule an appointment.

June 4-July 20 (No camp Wednesday, July 4)
Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Please note: Parents may register campers for up to five weeks (depending on availability) of camp.  Weeks cannot be changed once a camper is registered.

Please note: Registration is first come, first serve.  Parents may choose up to five weeks (depending on availability).  Campers must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. Campers do not need to attend registration.

Payment Policy
In order to serve as many families and campers as possible, please be aware of our Payment Policy:
1. $20.00 non-refundable registration fee due at registration
2. Full payment due at registration (also non-refundable)  The weekly rate for Camp Will is $51.00.
3. There is no daily rate.

Our payment policy is not only in place to help defer overall costs, but also due to a large number of families who register for specific weeks and fail to attend or pay for those weeks.  Other campers could benefit from those weeks.

1 week- $51.00+$20.00=$71.00
2 weeks- $102.00+$20.00=$122.00
3 weeks- $153.00+$20.00=$173.00
4 weeks- $204.00+$20.00=$224.00
5 weeks-$225.00+$20.00=$275.00

Williamson County Parks and Recreation offers monthly social programs for children, teens and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.


Fitness Fun
Keep active and get in shape this Fall! We begin with stretching by using exercises and Resistance bands, then transition into strengthening with light hand weights and stability balls. We complete our workout with a 30 minute walk. For beginners to the skilled athlete.  Please note: This program is designed for individuals who are independent and can follow directions within a small group.

Potluck and Bingo
Join us for an evening of fun, food and bingo!  Meat, drinks and bingo prizes will be provided, just bring a side dish or dessert to share.
PALS program: People at Leisure with Support - a caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked to register if planning to attend and eat.  Do to the limited number of winners, Bingo prizes are awarded only to the participants.

Games Galore-Group Games
Playing large group games is a great way to spend the night with friends. We will play games, such as Sharks and Minnows, Ten Pin Knock Down, and the Parachute. A taco bar dinner and dessert will also be served.

Recreation Night- Sweet Treats
Come out and have a sweet time making chocolate candy. Enjoy an evening making a variety of treats to take home to someone special. A dinner of chicken tenders, salad, chips, cookies, and drinks will be served as well.

Recreation Night-Stepping Stones
Step out on Thursday night and make your own stepping stone. You will enjoy an evening showing off your creative side designing a stone. A dinner of pizza, salad, chips, drinks, and dessert will also be served. You won't want to miss this fun activity!

Bowling
Meet us at Franklin Family Entertainment Center for a fun afternoon of bowling!  Due to staffing, one on one assistance is not available for this activity.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Super Saturday Respite
Come join us in games, music, swimming, crafts and more.  Participant will need a swimsuit, towel, lunch and drink for a day full of fun!  Personal care is provided for those with special needs only.  Because swimming is our first activity at Franklin, please send your child dressed to swim. Check in is between 10am and 10:30am.  If you have not checked in by 10:30am you will forfeit your space.

Respite Registration Policy:
1.  You may walk-in or call beginning at 9:00am on the first day of registration.  For Franklin respite registration, call (615) 790-5719 ext. 10.  For Longview respite registration, call (615) 302-0971 ext. 10.
2.  If the line is busy, keep calling.  Leaving a message is not registering.
3.  NEW!  Effective January 1, 2012, if you are registered at one location, and space is available at the other location, you may register for a second respite.

How to Make a Payment:
1.  Payment must be received within 5 days of registration or you will be moved to the waiting list.
2.  You may charge over the phone (a processing fee will be added to the charge.  Ending balance will be $20.44).
3.  You can mail payment or walk-in to the facility and pay within 5 days.

Policies and Procedures

Inclement Weather Policy
Please call (615) 790-5719 ext. 33 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext.18 for Spring Hill based programs the day of the event for cancellation information.  For inclement weather updates on facility closures, please call the department's Inclement Weather Hotline at (615) 591-8524. Information regarding class or event cancellations due to inclement weather will be listed on our website, Facebook, an at the front desk of the facility where the class/event is taking place.

Registration Policy
Registration must be by the deadline and payment must be received within five days of registering at the center of the event.  You must speak to a receptionist to make a reservation.  For phone reservations, please call (615) 790-5719 ext. 10 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext. 10 for Spring Hill based programs.   

Payments can be:
  1. In person-just stop by the front desk during regular business hours.
  2. Phone in with credit card(total must be $20.00 or more and will include a small processing fee).

Program Cancellation Policy
Refunds can be requested up to 24 hours before the program. After that point, most programs are non-refundable unless your spot can be filled by someone off the waiting list. Please remember to call (615) 790-5719 ext. 33 for Franklin based programs or (615) 302-0971 ext. 18 for Spring Hill based programs to cancel.
