Williamson County Community Band Concerts
The Williamson County Community Band performs at various locations each year from April to November. For a concert schedule or for more information regarding the band, please click here.
 

Poolapalooza - Teen  Battle of the Bands

Your favorite, local teen bands take center stage and battle it out in this unplugged, outdoor concert on the pool deck at the Longview Recreation Center. Rock out and drift away in this combo pool party / battle of the bands event. Space is limited and reservations are required.


Mighty Tikes Triathlon
Come out and cheer on your favorite lil' triathlete as they take on our fun-filled course.  Kids will start off peddling their way through the bike course, will then transition to the "need for speed" running portion and will conclude their triathlon with a "swim" (actually a dash through the sprinklers!) as they head to the finish line to receive their medal.  Every participant is REQUIRED to bring a bike (tricycles accepted too) and a helmet for this event.  No bikes larger than 16 inches please.  Each participant will receive an official Mighty Tikes Triathlon T-Shirt and Medal.  Parents don't forget to bring your cameras and video cameras - you won't want to miss out on catching that award winning moment.  Registration is required.

Parent’s Night Out
These events are offered at various times at the Fairview Recreation Complex for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Children get to participate in activities such as swimming (weather permitting), playing games, doing arts and crafts and much more. Parents get to enjoy some personal “quiet” time doing whatever they want to do while their child is in our care. This event usually takes place on a Saturday evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and is only $8.00 per child. Reservations are required.

Back to School Party
Children ages 6 to 12 get to participate in activities such as swimming (weather permitting), playing games, doing arts and crafts and much more. Parents get to enjoy some personal “quiet” time doing whatever they want to do while their child is in our care. This event usually takes place on a Saturday evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and is only $8.00 per child. Reservations are required.

Touch-A-Truck
Kids will have the opportunity to look at, climb on and sound all the bells and whistles on nearly 30 different kinds of large-scale construction and public service vehicles. Kids can also paint a vehicle to take home at the free craft tent and check out a variety of entertainers on the performance stage, such as musicians, magicians and ventriloquists. Door prizes will also be given away with cool items such as motorized kids vehicles and Tonka Trucks. Admission to the event is free; though cost is incurred for concessions. Halloween Spookfest
This event is held at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill on the Saturday before Halloween. Join us on this spooky evening and enjoy pumpkin painting, face painting and a cupcake walk. You can also participate in several contests such as the “Scariest Scream” or the traditional “Best Halloween Costume”. Don’t forget to visit the Fortune Teller to find out what your future holds. Everyone loves tasting the Witch’s Brew and spooky, kooky cookies!!!  This event is for children ages 2 to 12 and is only $5.00 per person. Reservations are required.

Haunted Trails of Horror (Haunted Hayride)
The Haunted Trails of Horror is a special event designed out of a need to provide safe Halloween entertainment for the entire family. You will take a hayride through the Haunted Forest and meet over 50 spooky characters along the way such as Dracula, Freddie Krueger, Jason, Chucky, Frankenstein and his bride, just to name a few. Young and old alike will enjoy this popular Halloween adventure. Great for families or groups such as scout troops, youth groups and sports teams. All hay wagons are also wheelchair accessible. Concessions and glow-in-the-dark necklaces are sold and everyone enjoys the “Monster Mash” musical entertainment with D.J. extraordinaire, Louis Lee. This event takes place on the grounds of the Recreation Complex in Franklin.

Halloween Blowout
This event is held at the Fairview Recreation Complex on the Saturday before Halloween. Join us on this spooky evening while we play all kinds of carnival games in the gym. You can also participate in several contests such as the “Scariest Scream” or the traditional “Best Halloween Costume”. Don’t forget to visit the Fortune Teller to find out what your future holds. Everyone loves tasting the Witch’s Brew and spooky, kooky cookies!!!  This event is for children ages 2 to 12 and is only $5.00 per person.  Reservations are required.

Holiday Craft Bazaars 
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department hosts the annual Holiday Crafts Bazaar at the Williamson County AgExpo Center (I-65 & Exit 61 in Franklin) in November. Nearly 150 booths featuring an array of hand-made Arts & Crafts such as Woodwork, Jewelry, Home Décor, Stained Glass, Photography and Painted Prints, Embroidery, Pottery and much more are availalbe for purchase. Children can also visit with Santa Claus and have receive a photo keepsake for only $3.00. Delicious concessions are also available. Kris Kringle’s Kar Klassic
Hey Guys….don’t you wish someone would come up with a way to entertain you while your significant other goes shopping during the holidays? Then you need to visit this Annual Invitational Car Expo, where a plethora of your favorite classic cars will be on display. Car vendors will also be on hand with great items such as custom upholstery, replica die-cast cars, custom wheels, photography prints and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to see nearly 70 “cream of the crop” vintage and modified cars of Middle Tennessee. Each vehicle has been hand selected to participate. The attending public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite car to be given “The People’s Choice Award” at the conclusion of the event on Sunday. This event takes place in conjunction with the Holiday Crafts Bazaar at the Williamson County AgExpo Center. Drop-N-Shop
Williamson County Parks and Recreation presents the answer to your Christmas shopping dreams. Parents, drop your kids ages 6 to 12 off at the Fairview Recreation Complex or Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill for our “Drop-N-Shop” and enjoy a one day shopping spree, kid free! While you are marking names off your Christmas Gift List, you kids will be enjoying arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, yummy snacks and a field trip! Please note, children will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink and spending money for the field trip. Reservations are required.

Christmas Craft Show
Begin your holiday shopping with us at the annual Christmas Craft Show; held at the Fairview Recreation Complex in December. This event hosts an array of hand-made Arts & Crafts such as Woodwork, Jewelry, Home Décor, Stained Glass, Photography and Painted Prints, Embroidery, Pottery and much more. Children can also visit with Santa Claus, and delicious concessions are available. For more information or to be placed on the vendors mailing list contact Sarah Starkey, (615) 799-9331.

Breakfast with Santa
Children 10 and younger, along with their parents, are invited to join us for a delightful morning sharing breakfast with Santa and his helpers at the Franklin Recretaion Complex. After a delicious breakfast, each child will have the opportunity to sit in Santa’s lap and give him their Christmas Wish List. Everyone will have their picture taken with Santa and will receive a Christmas goody from the Jolly ol’ Elf. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity for you and your child to spend time together with Santa Claus. This event usually takes place the first Saturday of December starting at 8:00am. Parents are FREE and the fee for children is only $7.00 each. Reservations are required.

Kid’s Garage Sale
Children ages 8 to 12 have the opportunity to learn the pros and cons of entrepreneurship by renting a booth space to sell their gently used items such as children’s clothes, sporting goods, action figures, computer games, books, CDs, DVDs, Videos and toys of all kinds. (NO Pets!!!). Reservations are required.

This event is held at the Fairview Recreation Complex, Franklin Recreation Complex and Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill on different weekends. The sale is open to the public and concessions are available, usually offered by a local youth organization as a fund-raiser.

Storytime with Santa
Children 10 and younger, along with their parents are invited to come dressed in their pjs to have cookies and milk while listening to Santa read a holiday story at the Fairview Recreation Complex or the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. After story time, each child will have the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap and give their Christmas wish list. Parents are FREE and the fee for children is only $5.00 each. Reservations are required.

Holiday Get-A-Way
Children ages 6 to 12 spend the day at the Fairview Recreation Center and enjoy a “holiday getaway” with your friends. We will play group games, get creative with arts and crafts, enjoy a pizza lunch and take an afternoon field trip. Don’t miss out on all the FUN! Reservations are required.

Santa’s Mailbox
Hey Kids... Don’t forget to write your letters to Santa Claus & drop them into Santa’s Mailbox at either the Franklin or Fairview Recreation Complexes, the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill or the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center. Include your return address information and Santa will write you back.

Crushing Cabin Fever
Families are invited to come out to the Longview Recreation Center to enjoy a group dinner then search for hidden items located within the facility. Each item will have a certain point value, and the family with the most points at the end of the evening will be awarded the "Grand Prize."  Space is limited, and reservations are required.

Daddy's Little Princess Ball
Girls, ages 4 to 12 can come out to the Fairview Recreation Complex or  the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. Bring your Father, Step-Father, Uncle, Grandpa or a special male figure for a night you will both cherish forever! Enjoy cookies and punch while our favorite DJ plays the latest hits and fun games. Each couple will be presented to the crowd, in true princess fashion, and receive a complimentary picture memento of the evening and a tiara!  Corsages will be available. Reservations are required.

Family Nights
Family Nights are offered at both the Franklin and Fairview Recreation Complexes and at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill at various times throughout the year. Family nights usually occur on Friday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and consist of a pizza dinner with dessert and fun entertainment for the whole family. Past entertainers include musicians, magicians, animal biologists and mad scientists.  Everyone can enjoy themselves for an evening’s worth of food and fun for only $6.00 per person. Reservations are required.

Spring Craft Show
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department hosts a Spring Craft Show every year, typically 2 to 3 weeks prior to the Easter Holiday. This event is held at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill and features an array of hand-made arts & crafts, such as woodwork, jewelry, home décor, stained glass, photography and painted prints, embroidery, pottery and much more. Brunch with the Bunny
Children 10 and younger, along with their parents, are invited to join us for a delightful morning sharing breakfast with the Easter Bunny. After a delicious breakfast, each child will have their picture made with "EB". Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity for you and your child to spend time together with the Easter Bunny. This event usually takes place a few weeks before Easter. Parents are FREE, and the fee for children is only $6.00 each. Reservations are required, space is limited.

Annual Easter Egg Hunts
There are currently 3 Easter Egg Hunts held throughout Williamson County, hosted by the Parks & Recreation Department. The hunts all take place the same day (typically held on Saturday, one week prior to Easter) at various times. Egg Hunts are held at the following locations: Franklin Recreation Complex, Fairview Recreation Complex and Longview Elementary School in Spring Hill. Children ages 10 and younger are invited to hunt for a total of nearly 50,000 candy and plastic eggs. Children should bring their Easter Baskets, and parents should bring their cameras to get pictures of their children with the Easter Bunny.

Spring Break & Fall Road Trips
These events take place at the Fairview Recreation Complex and are for children between the ages 6-12 yrs. These programs provided children with an opportunity to get out of the house and participate in fun local activities during their time off from school. We visit places like the Adventure Science Center, Nashville Zoo, movie theaters, bowing at the Franklin Family Fun Center and much more. Reservations are required for these events, space is limited.

 
Heart to H “Art”

Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department for an Art and Wellness Open House. Come out and take advantage of this “FREE” family event with all kinds of classes to sample, including fitness, wellness and art classes. You can try one of our group fitness classes; tap into your inner self in one of our wellness classes; browse through our art show featuring previous student’s artwork and even participate in a “make-it, take-it” art class.  Light refreshments will be provided, and door prizes will be given away throughout the day. This event is free and open to the public.

Healthy Heart Healthy You
Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department for a Fitness Open House at the Fairview Recreation Complex. Come out and take advantage of this "FREE" family event and sample classes like Jazzercise, Jr. Jazzercise, Zumba, Yoga, Miss Amy's School of Dance, Pilates and more. Also, tour the wellness center and meet our personal trainer. Door prizes will be given away. This event is free and open to the public.

Family Relay Day
On your mark, get set,...Go! Bring your family out for a morning of family fun, games and food. Enjoy good old fashioned relay races, tug o'war and many other "field day" games. Afterward participate in a group picnic as winners are announced and prizes are awarded. Registration is requried.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Kick back and enjoy America’s favorite past time while watching a baseball game at Greer Stadium in Nashville; as well as, a free fireworks show after the game.  Space is limited and reservations are required.

Poolapalooza - Family Pool Party
This event is offered at the Fairview Recreation Complex. Grab your family and your friends for an evening of good tunes and good times as our DJ spins your favorite hits at our outdoor pool. Cost is $5.00 per person. Reservations are required, space is limited.
