We know that recess isn’t just for kids anymore… everyone needs time to get up, get out and get moving. The Williamson County Parks & Recreation Department offers a number of fitness programs to help keep you active and motivated such as Yoga, Body Sculpting, Tai Chi and more. Franklin Recreation Complex MAY CLASSES YOGA Learn to harness the power of hatha yoga to strengthen your body, soften your heart, and clear your mind. Each class explores biomechanical principles of alignment of the body in the poses as a meditation in motion. Hands-on adjustments, demonstrations and partner work may be done in class to help reveal a deeper joy through the body. Classes end with Savasana (complete relaxation pose) and a blessing. Please bring a yoga mat. Beginner Series Try something new this winter! Learn the basics of yoga through simple postures and breathing techniques to get better energy, deeper rest, and thrive in a supportive community. Please bring a yoga mat. Treanor Gentle & Restorative Yoga If you are looking to experience the nurturing effects of yoga in a quieter, slow class then this class is for you. With an emphasis on restorative postures, this is a great place to start for older beginners, someone with injuries, or those simply desiring a more soothing class. Class is limited to ten students. Please bring a yoga mat to class. Day: Thursdays Date: 5/2 – 5/30 Time: 4:30pm to 5:30pm Ages: Adults Class Fee: $50.00 Instructor: Ellen M. Treanor Level 1 Get to know your body, relieve stress, and "De-age" (you're only as old as your spine feels)! This class is a flowing practice of basic yoga postures intermixed with demonstrations and detailed instructions. It's geared for everyone who has previously completed a Beginners' Introductory yoga class or has yoga experience. Please bring a yoga mat. Come experience the power of yoga to erase the work-week and recharge your spirit. It's open to yogis of all levels of experience. Expect more movement and less explanation.
