Here is a sample of the many things our division provides for you and your family:

Children’s Sitting Service
Children ages 6 weeks to 9 years old are looked after by caring and professional attendants while parents exercise or participate in classes. The Sitting Service is available, free of charge, at the Fairview Recreation Complex, the Franklin Recreation Complex, the Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill during various days and times.

Group Fitness
Group Fitness (Aerobics, Indoor Cycling and more) classes are led by a team of Certified Fitness Motivators.

Personal Training
Want to start a new exercise regimen, but not sure where to begin? Consult a professional. Certified Personal Trainers are available to work with you to set up an individualized program for a nominal fee.

Arts & Crafts Program for Children & Teens
Classes range from one time workshops to 8 week long sessions in a variety of mediums: Clay, Paint, Cartooning, Artistic Science, Drawing, Sewing and more.

Arts & Crafts Program for Adults
Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw or paint or maybe mold clay on a potter’s wheel? Here’s your chance to get those creative juices flowing.

Children’s Theatre
The Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the award-winning Children’s Theatre Group – The StarBright Players. Children ages 8 to 15 are encouraged to attend open auditions at various times of the year to perform in musical favorites such as The Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma, Grease and many more – usually 60 to 80 children are cast in each show. We also host the Missoula Children’s Theatre group each year which opens auditions for local children ages 5 to 18 for a whirlwind week of theatre.

Special Events
We host a number of exciting events open to the community at various locations throughout the county. Some of the most popular events include the Annual Spring and Fall Craft Shows, Kid’s Garage Sales, Easter Egg Hunts, the spooktacular Haunted Trails of Horror Hayride, the Halloween Blowout and many more.

The Williamson County Community Band
Dust off that old instrument and join the band! The Community Band under the direction of Mr. Ken Krause is comprised of nearly 50 local, amateur musicians ranging in age from high school seniors to senior citizens. They rehearse weekly from February to November and perform at various functions throughout Williamson County.

Healthy Lifestyle Classes
We know that recess isn’t just for kids anymore… everyone needs time to get up and get moving. The Parks & Recreation Department offers a numberof fitness programs to help keep you active and motivated such as Yoga, Body Sculpting, Tai Chi and more.

Children’s Classes & Programs
We offer a large array of dynamic children’s programs such as gymnastics, music programs, fitness programs, theatre workshops and much more.

Teen and Adult Classes & Programs
Have you ever wanted to try learning a foreign language? How about stepping out and learning to ballroom dance? These are just a handful of the types of programs offered each month for Teenagers and Adults. Check out what is new this month!

J.E.A.P.'s (Junior Excursion Adventure Program)
J.E.A.P.'s is a unique program offered to young teens ages 12 to 15. This school year program offers day trips to participants in exciting adventures such as white-water rafting, canoeing, climbing ropes courses, exploring creeks, caving, teen nights, paintball trips and much more.

Summer Programs for Kids
The Parks and Recreation Department offers a number of programs during the summer for children to keep them happy, safe and busy. Programs vary in length, cost and age requirements. You won’t believe all that we have to offer!

Summer Fun Day Camp
The Summer Camp program is a 7 week program for children ages 5 (must be turning 6 by September) to 12. Camp is held at 8 Williamson County Schools making it accessible for nearly everyone. Children are kept busy Monday through Friday with such great activities as Arts & Crafts, Shaving Cream Fights, Scavenger Hunts, Indoor and Outdoor Games, Fun Themes and fabulous Field Trips.

Operation of the College Grove Artsitorium
This beautiful 306 seat auditorium has been restored to show off an incredible wood ceiling and stage showcasing the “future of the arts in a historic past”. We are proud to offer this “gem” of an auditorium for individuals or groups to rent for such artistic events as dance recitals, plays, musical performances and more. It is also a great venue for movies and meetings.
